How to Set Your Goals
These days there’s so much lip service about finding your passion and chasing your dreams. And listen, dreams are super important because they inspire you to redefine what’s possible and motivate you to roll up your sleeves and get to work.
The problem with your dreams is, they’re a little too vague. If you really want to shake things up, your dreams need to become goals that are backed up with a solid plan.
You’re probably thinking, dreams...goals...aren’t they essentially the same thing, Agata? If you think I’m splitting hairs here, I want to make the distinction crystal clear because it matters in the grand scheme of things. Goals are where the rubber meets the road, they’re measurable, actionable, and they have a start date and an end date.
But the thing about goals is they’re just a starting point. The real magic happens when you reverse engineer your goals (or work backward to achieve them.) This is what I do with my clients, and it really helps them put things into perspective by laying out a clear path to the finish line.

First, we define the dream - What do you want your life to look like? Do you want a promotion? More money? Do you want to start your own business, so you have more freedom? Deciding on the end game will help clarify things for you. Ask yourself what you want to be doing in 6 months to a year.
Next, we develop a strategic plan - while your dream explains the what, a plan provides the how, when, and where. Your plan will break down what needs to happen into bite-sized chunks, which eliminates the overwhelm of feeling like you don’t know what to do or that you have to ALL the things all at once. A plan is also great for helping you stay on task and allowing you to measure the success of your actions.
